Let’s take a look brief look back…

We start out with great intentions and then something happens that turns back the hands of time. All the progress we have made seems to slip away and we’re back in our old patterns again – and feeling frustrated, experiencing lack and dreading the thought of having to go out and find a job.

Here’s the thing that’s going on – your old programming is keeping you from your truth!

Hop on my time machine and I’ll explain. Take a look, there’s your 12 year old grandmother and her 10 year old sister sitting quietly at the kitchen table mending their clothes – being seen and not heard. They each have a voice, but they have been taught that a woman’s place is in the home – and that’s all they can do.

Move forward in time a bit to when your mother was born. Your grandmother raised her to be a poised, don’t speak unless spoken to, be dutiful and never, ever ruffle anyone’s feathers. Your mother may have started her life that way, but then teachers and other forward thinking women started teaching her that she had a voice. She went home to share this with her family and was put in her place, “you shouldn’t think that way” and may have been forbitten to associate this “those people” again.

This started your mother thinking that there’s more to life than what she has been told at home. Curiosity takes hold and she starts exploring the other thinkings and teachings around her – in secret. She grows and evolves in her thinking, but still holds back from really reaching for her dreams because that’s not the way of things. Then you come along.

You are bright-eyed and eager. Mom teaches you the ways of the world, from her perspective – some wonderful new thoughts! Still, there is a hint of the old-world the sneaks through. As you move out into your world some of the doubts and fears your mother felt when she was a young girl start to emerge. Then questions come up … “are you good enough?” “Can you speak your mind, or will it only get you into trouble?”

This is old programming – the thoughts, beliefs and patterns that have been passed down to you. As they become ingrained on your subconscious this is when doubt and fear come up whenever you are stepping out of the box to do something new and exciting. This is where your story starts.

We never question our story, we just accept it – all of it.

But you can change all that! You can step out of old beliefs and the doubts and fears that hold you back from seeing your dreams and living your life ON Purpose.

See, life and business are not separate. Your life, your business and your relationships are a collaboration of your story. When you are feeling “off” in one area it will absolutely effect the other areas. It’s the Law of Cause and Effect.
